Why are teen girls struggling with their mental health?

Teenage girls face myriad challenges as they attempt to navigate modern societal pressures, body image concerns, academic stress, and the ever-evolving digital landscape. How can brands help them develop support networks? And what will enable these girls to feel authentically empowered?

Stephen Hinshaw

Stephen Hinshaw is a psychologist at UC Berkeley who specializes in developmental psychopathology and combating stigma surrounding mental illness. He has authored more than 325 scientific articles and chapters as well as 14 books surrounding girls’ mental health. He is the author of The Triple Bind: Saving Our Teenage Girls From Today’s Pressures and Conflicting Expectations.

Ryan Sultan

Ryan Sultan is an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at Columbia University. He specializes in ADHD and psychopharmacology in youth. Currently, he is investigating cannabis and substance use in teens. Sultan is also the director of Integrative Psych where he provides psychiatric care to adults, youth, and families.
