Why have high street stores gone small?

Size matters to UK shoppers. A decade ago it was all about big; grocery giants rolled out super, hyper and mega stores in out-of-town spots and sprawling shopping centres alike. But customers are starting to shop small again. So what do people want from a tiny store – and what was ‘big’ doing wrong?
