How women are finding freedom through feminist finance

Women’s attitudes to investing have come a long way over the last few years. How is a desire for better financial knowledge resonating with women of all ages, who want to attain financial freedom, grow their wealth, invest responsibly, and level up the gender pay and pension gaps?

Zoë Burt

Zoë Burt is a UK and US-qualified financial adviser who has worked in Europe and the UK to help others take charge of their finances. She heads up the UK and global financial content for the award-winning start-up Female Invest, tackling the gender wealth gap and educating women across the globe to get going on investing.

Ellen Kelly

Ellen Kelly is the co-founder and CEO of Savvy, a sustainable investment platform to help people invest in funds that are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. After studying and working in ESG financial markets in Ireland, Kelly moved to Paris to pursue a master’s in sustainability and social innovation at HEC Paris. Kelly combines her background in financial services and her expertise in sustainability to prove sustainability’s place as a driver for financial performance.

Manghanita Kempadoo

Manghanita Kempadoo has a background in sales for BP, London, as well as working in consultancy with Central London charities. She is a certified doula in Trinidad and Tobago, the UK and Portugal, assisting mothers and midwives during the perinatal period. She was the financial partner for five years for the Hototo Investment Group.

Nana Ocran

A former Editor of the Time Out Group’s series of guides to Lagos and Abuja, Nana has over 20 years of experience as a writer, editor and cultural consultant. She Founded the digital platform, People’s Stories Project and is also an Associate Lecturer at Omnes Education (London), a liberal arts school that is headquartered in Paris. She has worked in a cultural capacity with global brands and organisations including Danish Film Institute (Copenhagen), Institute of International Visual Arts (Iniva), Rolls Royce Muse (UK), Design Indaba (South Africa) Pernod-Ricard (Paris) and is an ongoing consultant for British Council (UK).
