Could 'free' make people spend more?

Free stuff is everywhere; from mobile games on the App Store to movies on YouTube. But as more media is available for free, how are content producers supposed to make money? Business consultant Nicholas Lovell, author of The Curve, argues that ‘free’ can actually spur people to spend more.
