Political cartoons in newspapers succinctly capture the cultural zeitgeist while bonding readers through playful humour and storytelling. To find out more about the connective power of comedy and cartoons, Canvas8 spoke to Robin Dunbar, a professor of evolutionary psychology at Oxford University.

Robin Dunbar

Robin Dunbar is a professor of evolutionary psychology at Oxford University. He’s concerned with trying to understand the behavioural, cognitive, and neuroendocrinological mechanisms that underpin social bonding in primates and humans.

Riani Kenyon

Riani Kenyon is a caffeinated Zillennial who is hopelessly addicted to The Sims 4 and binge-watches her latest anime obsession when she’s not busy bopping to early 2000’s K-pop. Beyond being a nerd, she has worked on initiatives for the UN Academic Impact and the UK Model WHO, and also explored politics while interning at the House of Commons.
