AMC Theatres has announced a tiered pricing scheme, charging more for more desirable seats in the middle of the theater and charging less to sit in the first two rows. The scheme has been met with dismay on social media, as many profess their unwillingness to pay extra amid surging living costs.

While movie theaters continue to struggle with poor attendance figures, at-home streaming services are flourishing. Mubi, the home of arthouse film streaming, is offering subscribers free tickets in a bid to get punters back into the cinema and support the venues at the heart of the industry.
