While social media may once have been the domain of the young and tech-savvy, older generations now boast a strong digital presence; 64% of 50- to 64-year-olds in the US use at least one social platform, and Gen Xers are spending seven hours a week on these channels. But young people don’t want their private online lives to be shared with their elders, and are looking elsewhere to express themselves freely.
