The gender pay gap is still a pressing issue across the world; in Germany, for instance, women earn around a fifth less than men. Now, a new law has been agreed in principle by the German government that requires companies to be more transparent about equality and wages.

Major corporations used to have their pick of the best minds as they left university. But there's now a talent shortage, and 53% of UK workers say that no amount of money could tempt them to a company with a poor employer brand. So how can businesses build their brand to attract the best applicants?

A YouGov poll has found that hard benefits are more important for French workers than soft ones. A full 71% said that the general atmosphere at work was the most important thing, followed closely by job satisfaction and pay. Suprisingly however, workplace relationships figure lowly on the list.
