African fashion is leading the sustainability charge

Africa's fashion landscape is undergoing a remarkable transformation, with sustainability emerging as one of the pivotal drivers of change. Why and how are African designers incorporating sustainable practices into their designs? And what can other brands learn from their success?

Abiola Olusola

Abiola Olusola is a Nigerian womenswear designer born in Ibadan and raised in Lagos. Olusola graduated with a BFA in fashion design from Istituto Marangoni Paris in 2015, followed by internships at major fashion houses, including Lanvin and Givenchy. She launched her eponymous brand in 2017.

Omafume Niemogha

Omafume Niemogha is the founder and creative director of Pepper Row, a neo-luxury sustainable Fashion brand from Nigeria.

Elvis Kachi is a Nigeria-based fashion and culture journalist who writes about the Nigerian fashion industry and the African continent at large.
