A diamond solitaire was once the rock that brides-to-be dreamt of. But in August 2015, De Beers was forced to cut prices by 9% due to a sharp decline in diamond sales. Couples may well be spending more on engagement rings – for both men and women – but tastes for sparkles are changing.
