Wireless charging at McDonald's

Two thirds of us suffer from nomophobia – no-mobile-phone-phobia. And whether at work or out with friends, it’s true that when your phone runs out of power, at the very least it’s inconvenient. McDonald’s is combatting this by installing wireless charging points.

In a collaboration with wireless charging company Aircharge, the fast food chain is set to install 600 charging points in 50 restaurants across the UK. The points use the Qi standard – a system that an increasing number of devices support, although currently compatibility is limited to just a few models. It's not the only one stepping into this space either – Starbucks is simillarly set to roll out wireless charging in selected UK branches.
