A streaming service for Sesame Street

Sesame Street is taking on Netflix, targeting its tech-savvy young audience with the launch of streaming service Sesame Go. For $3.99 per month or $29.99 a year, kids can stream as many new and classic Sesame Street episodes as they want on their mobile, tablet or computer.

While Netflix offers a large range of children's content, Sesame Go appeals to parents with not only a cheaper price, but also with an interface designed specifically for kids. "Sesame Go's video player was specially customised with little hands in mind," the company explains, and that includes bigger buttons and brighter colours. Cartoon Network is also releasing an app in 2014 that will deliver original 15-second content bites — videos, games, polls, and trivia — solely to mobile devices.
