Los Angeles-based photographer Hugh Kretschmer has quite the imagination. His funny, elaborate scenes seem like they're straight out of the sci-fi comedy show, 3rd Rock from the Sun. "The idea is the most important ingredient," he says. "I’ve always appreciated concept because it adds another layer to the photograph and invites participation from the viewer."
