Science writer and advocate for access to STEM education

Isabel Thomas is a science writer and the author of some 200 books for young audiences. She was the winner of the AAAS/Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books 2020. She also writes for leading science magazines and works with organisations to create STEM outreach resources and events. She is a passionate and engaging speaker on science and access to STEM education. Recent festival and media appearances include BBC Women’s Hour, Cheltenham Literature Festival, Cheltenham Science Festival, and the Emirates Literature Festival. Thomas studied human sciences at the University of Oxford and has an MPhil in education research from the University of Cambridge.
