Distrustful Americans fear for future food shortages

Despite there being no major food shortages so far during the pandemic, the majority of Americans remain fearful of one. As people’s trust in the government drops, they no longer feel able to collectively trust their guidance, and as a result they’re relying on their gut instinct instead of official advice.
