‘Smart glasses’ for blind people

Assistive technology has been limited to guide dogs and canes, but now a pair of ‘smart glasses’, developed by Dr Stephen Hicks, could help blind people navigate unfamiliar places. Using object recognition technology, the glasses translate signs into speech.
