Spanish prefer local shops to out-of-town superstoresSpanish food industry experts have noted that Spaniards prefer using, smaller, more local shops over larger supermarkets that sit on the edge of town. As the Spanish opt for shops that are more local despite their size being prohibitive to what they can sell, existing convenience stores could well benefit from playing up to the fact they are just that: convenient.
