For many Americans, dental care revolves around achieving the perfect set of pearly whites. But is such a focus on aesthetics healthy? Canvas8 spoke to Dr. Sandra Kahn, the co-author of Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic, to understand how oral health can affect a person’s overall wellbeing.

Dr. Sandra Kahn D.D.D.S., M.S.D. is a graduate from the National University of Mexico and the University of the Pacifoc School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. She is an author, international lecturer, and currently the only Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics that practices exclusively Biobloc Orthotropics and airway-centric orthodontics.
