How can people travel more sustainably?

As travellers both new and seasoned demand more unique experiences that they can boast about on their social feeds, some are opting for sustainable trips to offset their CO2 footprint and help communities abroad. How can tour operators facilitate this kind of responsible travel?

Justin Francis

Justin Francis is the co-founder of Responsible Travel, the world’s first business dedicated entirely to sustainable/responsible tourism. Prior to that, he spent ten years at J. Walter Thompson Advertising and worked with Dame Anita Roddick (a seed investor in Responsible Travel) at The Body Shop as the head of worldwide marketing communications.

Anula Galewska

Anula Galewska is the co-founder of Travindy and also works as the responsible business manager at Urban Adventures. She previously she worked as a consultant and helped numerous organisations across Europe and Asia improve their sustainability operations and marketing.

Jo Peters

Jo Peters spent 20 years in international agencies working for brands such as Nike and Playstation. Having set up her trend consultancy, Jo volunteered with Samaritans. In 2020, she trained as a coach with the Co-Active Training Institute, helping clients make positive changes in their professional and personal lives. Jo recently studied with Climate Change Coaches, partnering with those wanting to take action on this vital systemic issue. Together with writing on consumer trends and design, Jo loves the big outdoors, from the beach in Shoreham-by-Sea where she lives to MTB on the South Downs.
