In February 2018, America saw its third-worst school shooting in history at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. In the wake of the tragedy, the teenage survivors have sought to mobilize the country both online and off, demonstrating Gen Z’s desire to engage with the big issues.

In February 2018, America experienced its third-worst school shooting in history. The death toll of 17 students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida, surpassed that of the Columbine massacre, horrifying the nation. In response, the teenage survivors are taking action, directly engaging with politicians and mobilizing the country to call for stricter gun control measures.
