Lori Bitter puts three key macro trends into the context of the Boomer demographic.

Location United States

According to the US census of 2009 an American turns 50 every 7 seconds, that’s more than 12,500 people every day. 28% of the American population are “boomers” and the largest age group in the states is made up of those aged 48.  By 2015 people over 50 will make up 45% of the population.

So how does this group differ from others in regards to three key macro trends:  the changing nature of “Status”, the desire and practice of “Generosity” and “Innovation”.
