Lecturer specialising in children's social media and identity formation

Claire Pescott is a senior lecturer at the University of South Wales (UK), where she teaches across education courses and is the PGCE course leader. She had considerable experience as a primary teacher before her current position, which enables links between theory and practice in her teaching and research. Pescott's PhD investigated children's experiences of social media and how they understand their digital identities through creative, participatory research methods. She used focus groups and collaging as a means of hearing the child's voice about their experiences of a digital childhood.
