Christine M. Merkel is an expert in media diversity, international relations, strategy development, and public policies in arts, media, and culture. She is a seasoned designer and convenor of innovative multi-stakeholder dialogues. She was instrumental in writing the EU OMC report 'Stormy times. Nature and humans: cultural courage for change' (2022) and authored the media diversity chapters of UNESCO’s Global Monitoring Reports 2018 and 2015. In 2021, she accomplished Oxford University’s advanced diploma in IT systems analysis and design with distinction. Since 2011, she has been appointed a member of the UNESCO expert facility on cultural governance and creative economies.
