    Scope
Facing a financial crisis, families are turning to simple ceremonies to say farewell to their loved ones, and in doing so, finding themselves liberated from the cultural taboos that surround death.

As the world's population rapidly ages, the need to broach the subject of death is becoming more apparent – but with the average funeral costing over £7000 and requiring a hefty stack of paperwork, planning traditional funerals can often make matters worse for the bereaved.
