    Scope

    Alex is a Linux-based operating system that helps users to stay connected and independent through a simple interface managed by a third party via the cloud. The Financial Times claims that while the features aren't more exciting than “all the usual PC stuff”, the new OS works “better than anything Windows does.” (1)  In independent user tests, the Alex machines were preferred by 85% of the technophobic 54-75-year-olds who'd tested it (2) But would anyone other than the elderly use it?
